Apple TV 4K light keeps blinking, and Apple Logo flashes on and off the screen- how to restore software without visiting a retail store?

My Apple TV 4K was switched off from power, when I switched it on, it asked me to bring my phone closer to it (presumably to connect via bluetooth) and then the configuration on my phone failed.

When I boot it up now, there's the white light that just blinks intermittently, and the Apple Logo appears and disappears in 10-15 second intervals. I know I should go to the store to resolve this if I can't connect via USB cable, but just wondering what it is they do that I can maybe replicate at home? Nearest store is a bit far away.

Have tried to reset via pressing multiple key combinations on the remote as well.

For the 4K models, user can’t restore the system software by themselves when the menus are not available. Please contact Apple for options. They may have (or at least used to have) mail-in options available (in the US), as reported by select forum users in the past.

what it is they do that I can maybe replicate at home?

In some cases, they may decide to just swap units and be done with it. Maybe they have undisclosed special tools to do some magic in other ways. There is nothing to replicate at home, else that would be mentioned in public support documents.
