AirPods 4 (with ANC) Connectivity Issues: iPhone 16 Pro Fails to Connect Intermittently

Hello everyone,

I'm experiencing inconsistent connectivity issues with my new AirPods 4 (with Active Noise Cancellation) across my Apple devices. I would greatly appreciate any insights.

My Device Ecosystem (All up to date with the latest software):

• iPhone 16 Pro

• iPad Air (7th generation)

• MacBook Air (M1 chip)

The Problem:

The AirPods seem to prioritize connection to my MacBook Air and iPad, but frequently fail to connect to my iPhone 16 Pro. Here is a typical scenario:

1. I first connect the AirPods to my iPhone — success.

2. I then use them with my MacBook Air — they connect smoothly.

3. Later, when I try to switch back to my iPhone, the connection fails. The iPhone either doesn't see the AirPods or shows a "Connection Failed" message when I try manually.

4. Meanwhile, the AirPods continue to work flawlessly with the iPad and Mac.

5. Occasionally, the automatic switching to the iPhone works perfectly, but this is inconsistent.

What I've Tried:

  1. I have already ensured that all devices are signed in with the same Apple ID and have Bluetooth enabled.
  2. I find that I can reconnect it by restarting my iphone, which is a little inconvenient.

Question:

Has anyone encountered a similar issue? Are there any specific settings I should check on the iPhone 16 Pro or the AirPods themselves to resolve this prioritization and connection problem?

Thank you in advance for your time and help! I really appreciate it!

iPhone 16 Pro, iOS 26
