I applied a screen protector to my MacBook Pro 2025 and have since seen the threads about the potential damage it can cause. It has only been on for a day, but want to know whether or not it is worth removing if it is going to damage the screen. Any advice would be much appreciated!

The damage that contributor pooya3d describes:
— usually manifests as an irritating and irregular blotchiness across the screen
— won't be covered by warranty (self-inflicted wound)
— remediation requires a complete and very expensive replacement of the entire sealed display assembly. Components like the display cover cannot be separately replaced or serviced.
If there is damage, you can always make an unfit-for-purpose claim with the seller/maker or Amazon but it may take a while to get any resolution. Here in the US, parts+labor costs for Retina Display replacement start around US$500 and go up with screen size. Ouch.

Apple advise against using any sort of screen protector or keyboard cover:
To enable the thin design of Mac notebook computers, the clearance between the display (screen) and the top case is engineered to tight tolerances.
So tight that even dust and oil from your skin on the keyboard will cause the screen to be scratched and damaged over time.
Schedule an appointment with an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Center and have them remove the screen protector. Probably cost less than if you do it, damage the screen in the process, and then have to shell out for a screen replacement.
MacBooks come with a built-in anti-glare protective layer, designed to keep your screen in top condition. If you leave a screen protector on for too long, you risk stripping this protective layer away when you finally decide to replace it.
Which brand are you using?
IMO remove it … carefully.
Your MBP’s hinges will thank you.

AppleCare+ /AppleCare One may cover accidental damage

FYI in my experience Apple will absolutely positively refuse to touch that Mac, not until all the screen accoutrements and other modifications have been removed by the user. Only after that will Apple document any damage and maybe accept it for repair.
