External mic not working with Facetime

I'm using a Macbook Air 15" M2 with Sequoia 15.6.1. I also am hooked up to an external monitor and microphone. I cannot get anyone to hear me when I use FaceTime. I checked the sound setting and it shows my voice being captured. My microphone works for everything else (dictation, zoom, cloud voip phone, etc). I have this exact same setup with my M4 Mac Mini with no issues. Does anyone else have this problem? Any solutions?
