Apple weather app not refreshing automatically

So I’m almost certain the weather app would refresh pretty frequently on my phone and watch. Lately the only time I can get the app itself to display up to date information as well as my location is by forcing it to refresh by opening the app. I work a few towns over and I’m used to seeing the location on the weather app pretty much update in live time as I’m driving through that town. Something just doesn’t seem right. Ive already tried doing all off the basic troubleshooting that’s available. My phone has the latest iOS update as of right now.
