I really have a need for an app or utility that works like the old "Windowshade" that collapses a window (rolls it up) into the title bar. I've searched around and there are utilities that do all sorts of window management, including maximizing, but none seem to have the collapsing function.
Is there any modern equivalent that will run on an i5 Intel 2019 27" iMac?

Wow! That brings back memories! Unfortunately, I don't know of any current option. Over the years, Apple has made it much harder for third-party developers to access core system functions. So it may not be possible anymore, though I don't know for sure.
Do you remember all the fun things you could do with ResEdit?

Much as I used to love stuff like that, customizing things, I'm just not willing to deal with the potential problems anymore.

Yup. And I'm just as happy not to have to be answering questions about it here.
The only reason I ran Linux as VMs was because I enjoyed customizing the GUI. After a couple hundred I got tired of it. :)
