Is there a way to eliminate the horizontal scroll bar at the bottom of the screen while displaying a Number's spreadsheet on my iMac OS Monterey ver 12.7.6? Hopefully this would allow the display of one more spreadsheet line.

If the Numbers window is narrower than your screen..?
Grab the window by the side or bottom corner and drag it out wider.
The horizontal scroll bar will be as long as it needs to be. If you want to reveal more horizontal or vertical space, add more columns or rows (respectively). You can also zoom in or out, which makes the entire spreadsheet appear larger or smaller, and the scrollbars will adjust accordingly.
The status bar is always there to show you important information, such as the contents of a selected cell.
You can control the behavior of the scroll bar (which is very thin so it might not save you much space) by going to System Settings > Appearance and making a choice under 'Show scroll bars".
