Battery draining whilst MacBook Air not being used

I have a MacBook Air, M2, 2022 - memory 8GB. It's currently running macOS Sequoia v.15.5. I bought it August 2024 - so just over a year ago. If I close the laptop but leave it unplugged, by the time I open it again (which might just be a day or two), it typically will have no battery left. I last used it on Thursday, it's now Sunday. It was unplugged those three days, yet, as per usual, it has no battery left. Yet, if I look at 'Energy Usage' under the Battery tab and it has literally zero usage recorded for Friday, Saturday or Sunday - how on earth can it be using up the battery? Any tips?

Closing the lid is not a complete shutdown, it's only an idle state with the display turned off. Certain system processes will still be active ... and if you didn't close your apps they continue in a suspended but still running state. If you have WiFi or Bluetooth enabled they continue searching for connection(s) and/or remain connected to whatever devices your MBA may have been connected to, which consumes power. I'm not sure that any of that stuff shows up in the Energy Usage graph.

Batteries also self-drain over time ... or it may be that your battery isn't up to snuff. Try doing a complete shutdown (Apple > Shut Down) and after your MBA shuts off, close the lid. Then let it sit for 1-3 days and see what the battery power is when you start up again.
