4k tv randomly stops playing, displays a black screen, then returns to show with it paused. Sometimes it states that there is no HDMI. All this since I updated to iOS 26 last night. I have replaced the HDMI, reset device, and all the other recommended actions.
This happened a couple of years ago and the fix was to alter the setting that allows the Apple TV to turn of the display TV…tried that also!

If your TV supports Dolby Vision try setting the AppleTV video format to HDR instead of Dolby Vision. Other thing would be to try a different HDMI cable. And also confirm the HDMI port on the TV and AppleTV do not have any corrosion in them.
Done, and done…swapped it with an Apple TV from another room that’s on the previous software release and it works perfectly. The fault followed the updated box when I put it on a different tv, DEFINITELY a bug with the new iOS release…it was working perfectly prior to the update.
Guess I’ll have to wait for the next update 🤷🏻♂️
Not experiencing the issue on my system, running the same firmware and not seeing other reports. If you haven't already try a different port and test on another TV. If it persists contact Apple support.

No you can't roll back an update.

If it was a bug with the OS it would be easy to replicate and this forum (as well as this thread) would be full of reports from users.
Best to consult with Apple support so it can be narrowed down as to what is happening.
