Apple Books app reading an ePub with audio scrubber

I am having some issues with the default audio scrubber that Apple uses for ePubs in the Books app on iPhone. When I open a page that has an embedded audio file attached, the scrubber shows up, but then quickly changes size so that I can only access the play arrow, and not have any other functionality. If I enlarge the page, I am able to see and use the full function of the scrubber, but because the page is enlarged, I am not able to see the full page. Is there a way to “lock in” the scrubber size so it is fully visible while the full page is showing? It works fine on iPad and MacBook Pro, but is wonky on the iPhone…updated to iOS 26.0.1 - but it was also a problem with iOS 17. EPUB was created as fixed layout in Adobe InDesign…
