Here's how to turn it on for the network you're currently connected to:

Open the Settings app on your iPad.1

Tap on Wi-Fi.

Find the Wi-Fi network you are connected to and tap the information button i in a circle next to its name.

Toggle the switch next to Low Data Mode to the On position.


When Low Data Mode is active, your iPad automatically reduces its network data usage in various ways, such as:

Pausing automatic iCloud backups and Photos updates.

Turning off Background App Refresh.

Reducing the quality of streaming content (like video and music).

Disabling automatic downloads and updates in the App Store
