can't change the size of the ear piece of my airpod pro 1

I have the airpod pro 1's. I bought new sized ear pieces to snap onto the airpods. I cannot make a single one of the sizes fit. The black oval seems flat against the airpod and the silicone piece, the hard part, seems too small for the airpod. How can I fix this?
