Weird sounds from my MacBook

Hello. My MacBook has started making a very strange high-pitched noise from the left side. It occurs especially when the temperature is higher and doesn’t go away. Can anyone help me diagnose the problem?

I've never quite heard a fan sound like that, although part of that sound certainly may be the fan. Have you tried muting the sound to lessen the chances the noise is from the speakers since part of that sound seems more electronic in nature?

Try running the Apple Diagnostics to see if any hardware issues are detected. If this an M-series Mac and you have Tahoe installed, then you will want to run both the MRI test and the Cooling test. Also pay attention to whether you hear that sound while the diagnostics are running as it may provide more clues.
