Wondering what you have tried already ... here's few suggestions:

(1) Check whether the microphone is available or "muted" in FaceTime

(2) Restart your Mac (Eg: Apple menu > Restart) deletes temporary files, reestablishes connections, mau update recent setting changes etc., and often restores order if something is not worrking as expected.

(3) Update to the newest MacOS Tahoe version :

What's new in the updates for macOS Tahoe - Apple Support says: 26.0.1 is the latest:

:This update provides important bug fixes, security updates, and ..." more

(NB:If you choose to update: It is always wise to back-up Mac first i

Apologies for the accidentally "split" reply: suggestions coninue:

(4) Check: System Settings > Sound > Input ensure correct microphone iis chosen

ensure output level is sufficient for voices

ensure "mute" is on (not ticked)


(5) Scroll down to: "If you need help with your connection or call quality"

(6) Could the microphone be in use in another app ? (eg: a "paused" Voice Memo)
