iOS 26 mistakenly calls 911 during streaming services

Ios 26 is constantly listening when I play all of my streaming services and it often tries to follow commands that are given by the actors in a show. For example my iPad tried to call 911 and another time it tried to search for a CEO when the actor said we need to search for a new CEO. It often gives me a drop-down menu that blocks the screen attempting to help me with commands. Is there any way to get it to stop listening?

If you are experiencing this, you can usually prevent it by:

  1. Disabling "Hey Siri": Go to Settings > Siri & Search and toggle off Listen for "Hey Siri" (or "Siri" or "Hey Siri"). You can still activate Siri manually by pressing the side or Home button.
  2. Muting/Lowering Volume: Keeping your device's volume low or muted, especially during shows known to have the "call 911" phrase, can help prevent the activation.
