iCloud Drive on Windows Timestamp Issue
When you drag-and-drop a file into your local iCloud Drive folder on Windows, the iCloud for Windows client
re-uploads it to Apple’s servers. In that process it writes a brand-new file record, stamping the
Last Modified date to “now” rather than preserving the original timestamp. I can use Robocopy to reset these to match the original file but this is tedious. I keep all my iCloud drive files in another local folder. I make changes in that folder and then sync them to my iCloud drive so I have that info on my IOS devices. This causes all files on iCloud drive to be copied, even though nothing has changed. This is due to the timestamps not matching. Apple needs to fix this so that when a file is dragged into my iCloud drive folder, its timestamp is preserved. When I look at a file in the Files app on IOS, I want to see its actual creation date, not the date it was uploaded to iCloud.
