Siri activated cannot switch off. Adds 3 letters to the last passcode entered locked out

iPhone 14 Pro Max. While shopping Siri actives when I was using Apple Pay wallet. Switched to another card. I had to use physical card in the end. Could not close Apple Pay wallet as Siri is active to open Apple ID to turn it off. Rebooted phone, Siri still active. Said can only turn Siri off in Apple ID on the device. I entered my passcode and Siri adds 3 letters from the alpha numerical key of the last number type. It then says I entered the wrong passcode. I grateful for any solutions without resetting my phone.

The shop assistant had said that the self scan till had been slow all day. I have disable Siri on all my devices and changed my Apple ID password just in case it was a hack.
