When copying an image from the internet, I only get the hyperlink and not the image.

When I copy an article of the internet that contains text and images, I get the text but the hyperlink and not the image. To get the image, I need to "Save Image as", save on the Mac and then Insert. This is extremely time-consuming. It used to work fine.

You have options to get that web-based article (text and images) onto your Mac in one workflow…

  • Enable Safari's Reader mode (shift+cmd+R) and then export what you see as a PDF
  • Use Firefox (e.g. v144) with the article viewed in it
    • Click the right-hand ≡ tool bar item and then select Print… from its menu.
    • The Destination will be Save to PDF and you want to print backgrounds.
    • Click Save. This will generate a paginated PDF with text and images.

You have not provided much context or detail so this is a guess.

Maybe the website got tired of users copying their images so implemented some protections that made it more difficult for users to copy the images. Contact the website and ask them what the easiest way to copy their content is.

Thank you for your reply. It is the case for all websites...I am a toursit guide and use lots of sites to prepare my visits. The photos used to all copy like the text when I copied-pasted the article. Now, I just get the URL address.

I do not know how this worked in the past for you but when you copy a web page the images are not included unless you use a tool/process that downloads the image or takes an image of the displayed page. Images on a web page are links to images. such as <img src="some url where image is located" />. If I'm copying an image from a web page I always have had to select the image then copy it unless I'm taking a screen shot which then results in the page text also being an image.

Sorry if I'm not completely understanding the issue.
