Icloud app verification keeps popping up even though I do it successfully

On a Windows 11 PC and just installed this iCloud app for PC to download my pictures so that I can finally free myself of Apple and M365.

It keeps coming up to verify the apple account but does not stick even though I do it asap.

Am glad am leaving these dinosaur products, back to SSD for my pictures, am shocked at how slow iCloud is, it is almost deliberate to slow you down from actually accessing your photographs.

Not your keys not your photos, remember that.
