Sounds like your MacBook Air isn’t recognizing the wired Logitech mouse correctly. Let’s go through a few things to narrow this down. First, try unplugging the mouse and plugging it into a different USB port or adapter if you’re using a USB-C hub. Some hubs can be finicky with power delivery or data connection. Also, test the mouse on another computer (Windows or Mac) to confirm it’s working — that’ll help determine if the issue is with the mouse or your Mac.

Now, about the “Option key pressed 5 times” message — that’s actually a macOS Accessibility shortcut for Mouse Keys, which lets you move the pointer using the keyboard. It doesn’t turn on or off your physical mouse. To fix that, go to System Settings > Accessibility > Pointer Control > Alternate Control Methods, and make sure “Enable Mouse Keys” is turned off. Once that’s disabled, plug your Logitech mouse back in, wait a few seconds, and see if the cursor responds. If not, reset the USB subsystem by restarting your Mac while the mouse is connected. That usually clears up detection issues.
