Frauddefensed process consuming most CPU

In the Activity Monitor I see a process called 'frauddefensed' running for 20 minutes and consuming >90% of CPU on my macbook pro. Any idea if this is a legitimate process, or a hack of some kind? thanks in advance.

  • What MacOS version are you using?
  • What is the Executable Path that is seen when you double click the process?
  • Do you have any third party AntiVirus/VPN installed?

You can check the files that install processes on launch by using the free EtreCheck tool. It contains no personal information and can also be posted here.
