preventing movement on an iPad touch screen

Ipad Air 18.7.1 I am attempting to trace off the screen using old technology, ie tracing paper and a conventional pencil. However the image on the screen jumps every time I touch it. Is there any way to lock down the touchscreen feature?

iPad Air, iPadOS 18

Your iPad will unavoidably respond to touch by your finger - or close proximity through a non-insulating film of other covering.

You might attempt to use an insulating glove that is explicitly designed to ameliorate issues with palm rejection. Try searching for a suitable glove using your preferred web browser. Amazon is an often used source.

Thank you. That looks like a solution except I can't seem to order one. Any glove like this comes with a prompt that says "This item cannot be dispatched to your selected delivery location. Please choose a different delivery location." This is puzzling as I live in a very accessible part of the east coast of the US. More frustration. Thank you for your response.
