Mac not updating to the cloud regularly after updating to Tahoe

Ever since I updated my Macbook Pro (and iOS devices too) to Tahoe, I've been experiencing delays or simply no data sync to the Cloud unless I force it manually. For example, I will make some additions to Notes or send new Messages in the evening on my Macbook, but neither my iPad or iPhone has received the updates the next morning. It used to be almost instantaneous prior to Tahoe. I can force it to sync by going into Settings->iCloud->Messages and then hit "Sync Now", but I shouldn't have to. And in Notes, there is no option to force a sync.

What can I do to regain instant sync to the iCloud like I had with Sequoia?
