Can I report non-Apple scam emails to Apple?

Despite using Rules, I get plenty of scam emails. Addressed to similar addresses I use and also gobbledegook addresses that bear no resemblance to mine at all. Totally didn’t understand the latter at all.

Can I report emails with no connection to Apple in them? Or is Apple only interested if mails are allegedly from or are about Apple etc?

Unless Apple is your email provider (@iCloud.com; @me.com; @mac.com; @earthlink.com), you need to approach your email provider for help.

HOWEVER...when looking up their support function in a search engine, carefully note the addresses. Many people are being scammed by "support firms" that pay to get placement ABOVE the actual provider.

If my address is in a bcc list, I can still see the address they sent it to which surely must be mine - but it isn’t mine. Still confused I’m afraid. Any clarification please?

Are you viewing the actual headers of the email by going to Mail > View > Message > All Headers?

Your email address is in there, although the To, From, Bcc fields in Mail are easily spoofed by spammers. It is more difficult when your address is included in a Mailing List where you will see that noted in Mail below the To/From fields where it will say "This message is from a mailing list", and includes an Unsubscribe button. That button is only useful for legitimate senders to remove you from their mailing list and you cannot expect a spammer to do that as they sell those lists of email addresses to each other. That is why blocking is not very useful when it comes to spam messages as they will continue from a different address.

When viewing the Headers, the last hop in the list is the closest to the actual sender and you may be able to gain some insight on the ISP of the sender. You may be able to file a complaint with that ISP for email abuse, but by the time you do that, they have already moved on to another address. It is just a cat and mouse game and there is nothing in an email that will provide positive identification of the sender.
