How to stop calendar for chaging times based on time zone

I've tried looking this up extensively, and can't find a solution. So I'm more so hoping the folks at Apple see this and can make a change.

I live in the US, in the Eastern time zone, so New York for the settings. But when traveling across time zones, calendar changes the event times to whatever the current time zone is that I'm in. Recently I took a trip to Europe and departed at 5:45pm, landing in Amsterdam at just after 8 AM, then a connecting flight at 2pm. Amsterdam is 6 hours ahead of me, so looking at the calendar, it shows I land in Amsterdam at 2 am, and my connecting flight at 8 am.

I know there is the option for time zone offset, but then what happened is I set that, and then when I got back home, I had a doctors appointment coming up, that I knew was at 2:30 pm. Calendar showed it as 8:30 am.

In the past, I had an upcoming Europe trip, but before that I was in Las Vegas, so that's three hours behind me. And it was offsetting the Europe stuff by nine hours.

The flight info in calendar was from the airline, imported into calendar. The Dr. appt was manually entered by me.

What I want to see from Apple isn't offset settings and such. What I want is when something is entered in, LEAVE IT ALONE. Don't change it based on where I am. Don't do anything. If the arrival time of the flight is 8 AM then leave it 8 AM.

To be honest, I'm really very shocked that Apple doesn't have that as an option, and what I'd really love, (after changing this) is for someone to give me an explanation as to in what universe does it make sense for the app to change the times? Just because I'm in Florida at the moment, I still need to base my plans on the time that the even will be happening there, not what time it will be back at home.
