Which Macbook computer for social media manager

Hello! I am a social media manager and co-host on podcast. A lot of what I do is use capcut and adobe premiere pro to edit videos, a lot of them in 4k format. Which macbook should I get? I want a computer that grows with me as my tasks increase. Right now I have a macbook air and I constantly run out of storage and have to delete.

M-series Macbook Airs have no cooling fans so are, IMHO, not the best choice for hard tasks like video editing. They are fine for casual email, browsing, and word processing, but heavy tasks can be unkind to a computer with only convection cooling. We regularly see complaints here about M-Macbook Airs running hot with high-demand tasks.

I suggest a M4 Macbook Pro. The standard M4 model has one fan, but the Pro and Max versions have two. My M4 Pro Macbook Pro 14 stays cooler than any Mac or PC laptop I have used, and I've had computers at home since 1983. M4 Pro and Max Storage starts at 512GB but I paid the extra US$200 for the 1TB option.

Shop 14-inch MacBook Pro - Apple

If size matters, My M4 Pro 14-incher is slightly smaller and lighter than the 2012 13-inch mbo it replaced. Lovin' it.

The clear limitation with your existing Mac is lack of storage space, which also happens to be the most popular purchase regret.

Editing 4K video is going to be a resource-demanding task, and Adobe products are notorious enormous hogs. That demands a significant amount of memory, and it's my personal opinion 24 GB should be adequate. Of course you can specify more.

Whether you choose a MacBook Pro or a MacBook Air, purchase as much internal storage as you can reasonably afford. Consider 1 TB to be an absolute, bottom line minimum, and 2 TB to be adequate.

Whatever you do, don't under-specify your Mac. Either way the M4 should be fine, but the M4 Pro or the M4 Max will be better. If you should ever have a need to work with 8K video you will want the latter options.

Get Apple's opinion by starting with Apple Store Online - Apple then find the "contact a specialist" link. You can chat, call, or video with them. They don't work on commission but will probably steer you toward the MacBook Pro and I don't disagree with that. They want you to be happy with your purchase decision.
