Akkadia app size zoomed on new iPad air

My wife just upgraded to a new iPad air (11") from an older iPad (gen 9 ). There is a game called Akkadia that she plays. On the older iPad the game looks fine, on the newer one the game is zoomed som that the outer edges of the game are not shown on the screen.

I realize the resolution of these two iPads are different. The older iPad is 2160 x 1620 and the Air is 2360 x 1640.

I would expect the game to be a bit smaller than the screen, which would be fine. But with the game image larger than the screen, data such as the score is cut off, only half of it actually shows on the screen.

I contacted the developer, but have never received a reply from them.

Is there any way to fix this? I think she is ready to return the Air and just keep the old iPad until it eventually dies.
