how to turn off search bar in mail?

I’m now on iOS26 on my iPhone- the new interface is mostly ok but on the mail inbox I now have a “search” bar towards the bottom on the screen. I never use it and I’m pretty sure it wasn’t there before, so it’s just wasting space.

How do I get rid of it??
