Refund request for unsuccessful free trial subscription cancellation

Hello I signed up for a 3 day free trial and when I signed up I was asked if I want a reminder when the free trial was about to end and I clicked yes. After browsing the app I realized it was similar to an app I already have. I went in to cancel it and I thought i hit submit but I’m a elementary school teacher so right when I was canceling my students came in energized, screaming and running and I immediately put my phone down. 3 days later my account is negative because i failed to hit submit when canceling. I however did not get a email reminding me that my trial was up. I requested a refund and got denied. How when I hit the box to get a reminder. This is so unfair and not right Apple. I get paid once a month so now i have to take out a loan so my account won’t be even more over drawn because my next pay date is at the end of this month.
