Dual power supplies? TS4 + Asus ProArt PA329CV

Hi,

I own a CalDigit TS4 hub and use it as a power supply to my Macbook Pro M1 Max 2021 (Model Identifier: MacBookPro18,2 // Model Number: Z14X000HQLL/A).

I recently bought an Asus PA329CV that is also a power supply through USB-C connection. I'm afraid to connect it through USB, because both equipment works as a power supply. How will the Macbook handle it? Is there any risk to the ports?

Nowadays, I'm using the caldigit's displayport output to my video signal, but I really wanna use the monitor's extra USB ports, so I think I have to use the monitor through the USB-C.

Is it safe to connect both accessories through USB + Thunderbolt 4?

Thanks in advance.

MacBook Pro computers are designed to be operated in an environment where multiple power sources are directly available, and they will do so with no problems whatsoever. No damage to any equipment will result to any device connected in this way.

Any external power supply that provides "USB Power Delivery" (including certain Docks and Displays) must negotiate over the USB cable (or MagSafe connection) using USB Power Delivery Protocol or equivalent, and can not 'force itself' on your Mac. The Voltage and Current are delivered only after your Mac requests and the charger agrees to supply power under certain controlled conditions. The computer draws only as much power as it wants, and the computer is in control of the entire process.

Charge your MacBook Air or MacBook Pro - Apple Support

“Your Mac charges over only one port at a time, so connecting multiple power adapters to the USB-C ports and MagSafe 3 port (if present) won't charge your Mac faster. USB-C charge cables support different maximum wattages (W), so ensure you choose the correct cable. If you connect more than one power source, your Mac charges only from the cable and power adapter or display providing the most power.”
