problem to trim videos with Quicktime player after Tahoe 26.0.1 upgrade

After upgrading to Tahoe, I can no longer trim videos properly with Quicktime player because when I select the part I want to cut, the process freezes and jumps to another part of the video that is not the one I selected. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Everything was fine before the upgrade, but it seems that every time Apple makes a change, it's for the worse.

It is (or was)useful for a few things and it's free.

I'm not a professional editor by any means, so I rely on the programs on my Mac, iMovie and QuickTime Player. For what I do from time to time, it's enough. But every time they change something, it's for the worse or to force you to buy other programs. As if everything wasn't expensive enough already.

I fumbled thru editing my son's baseball game....normally takes 30-45 mins but this time took 1.5 hours because it kept freezing. Finally got it done and went to combine all the trims....thought it worked but it spent 2 hours and gave me an unplayable file :(. And because I REALLY don't want to learn another editing solution for the small amount of editing I do, I'm going to try it again. Wish me luck!
