Apple Workout app is a mess after watchOS 26.0.2 update

The new UI for workouts on Watch is awful and impractical.

Changing from one workout to another, like Running to Cool Down is now a finicky multi tap process that’s truly difficult to do while running!

Also, what is the point of putting in a “quick start” button, where before I could just start the next workout by literally tapping it. Awful UI change. Worse, if you don’t absolutely nail the tap on “Quick start”, say when transitioning from walk to run, then mid-run you discover that it’s still on a walk workout, or, worse, just paused.

Is there a way to get rid of “quick start” and just start the next workout by tapping on it like we used to?

Yeah, I find myself also disappointed. I find the new update to be clunky and less intuitive and adding more barriers to tracking workouts.

I think it's more difficult to select a workout now. I often miss the one I want as I scroll through the new UI. And when I wanna link and continue to another workout I often end up failing to do so because now there's a second step versus defaulting to "quick start".

At least give us the option to switch between different interfaces. Like perhaps a compact UI and Quickstart only setting.

I also think this Reddit thread sums up my complaints quite well:
