How can I improve Touch ID recognition on MacBook Pro?

I can easily create fingerprint passwords on my MacBook Pro and they will work for a few minutes and then my computer forgets them. I’ve tried putting in the same fingerprint several times and tried registering for five separate fingerprints but they all get forgotten within a few minutes of entering them. Before they disappear, they work very well

Your computer is not forgetting them, it’s the changing composition of your skin. My wife has the same problem. My son and I have tried putting our fingerprints in her phone and they work perfectly all the time. Like you my wife's fingerprints work for a while and then stop. That indicates the device is okay but there’s something about the makeup of her skin that confuses the algorithm. This issue has been present for her over several devices over the years.

So it would seem you are one of the unlucky ones.
