Concerns about data privacy after using Dr. Fone by Wondershare

Is dr fone by wondershare safe? I installed their app on my pc and gave it my iCloud access to recover certain deleted files and the app was able to find it although I used a free trial and never recovered them just previewed it, but I’m still concerned if they’ve stored or transferred my personal data and files to their servers or any third parties? I later changed my password too but still I’m scared

Re-read the end-user license agreement you approved, and this time assume the most vendor-friendly and most profitable and most inclusive interpretation of everything written in that agreement. All that text interpreted for the benefit of the vendor, and not yours. That’s the best case, and assumes you can afford or acquire legal representation.

Then re-read it assuming the most invasive entities around just bought the vendor and the vendor’s installed customers snd their pool of collected data. Or assume that the vendor went well beyond their own end-user agreement and pillaged everything including passwords and sensitive data. That’s the worst case.

All free apps and free services get paid for somehow, usually with access and/or data and/or tracking.

And IIRC, for services with location data access directly or bypassing Apple controls, geolocating just three frequent locations and scheduling is usually enough to uniquely identify someone, too.

Security-related apps and VPN apps and cleaners and jailbreaking apps are deeply intrusive operations.
