- Delete the app: Tap and hold the Mail app icon on your Home Screen, then tap Remove App (or the 'x' if apps are wiggling), and then Delete App to confirm.
- Reinstall the app: Go to the App Store, search for Mail (make sure to search for the one from Apple), and tap the download/cloud icon to reinstall it.
Important Notes:
- Email Accounts: Deleting the app does not typically delete your email account information (like your sign-in details for iCloud, Gmail, etc.). This information is stored in your iPhone's Settings > Mail > Accounts. When you reinstall the app, you may just need to go to those settings to make sure your accounts are still enabled for Mail.
- Local Messages: Any emails that were only stored locally on your iPhone (common with certain older POP accounts, but less so with modern IMAP/Exchange/iCloud accounts) might be deleted when you remove the app. Most modern email is stored on the server, so it will simply resync when you reinstall.
