Wondering what happens when you try to use FaceTime ...

eg: an error message may point to the cause of the situation so it can be solved.

Will try to cover a few of the possibilities below, but can only guess at this stage..

Wondering too, which iOS version is installed on your iPhone 16 ...

Eg: You may need to update your iPhone's iOS version to the current version (iOS 26.0.1.)

Note:

It is always wise to back up your iPhone before hand, if you decide to updat the iOS vrsion.

You generally need a strong wi-fi signal to use FaceTime, or you can pay to use cellular data.

Check you are signed in to your iPhone with the correct Apple Account you use for FaceTime:

Eg says: "Set up FaceTime

Go to the Settings app , tap Apps, then tap FaceTime. Make sure FaceTime is turned on,

and sign in to your Apple Account if you want to use it with FaceTime (so you can

If more than one contact method appears below “You can be reached by FaceTime at,” you

can tap to select or deselect it."
