Hiding notes & highlights in Apple Books

Is it possible to hide the notes & highlights you make when reading through Apple Books. I have found them a bit intrusive when going back to re-read a section, almost to the point of it blocking out whole letters. This being the case on my iPhone, model 16 Pro Max.

Or is this not a feature as of yet, if that is the case where can I turn to?

Regarding my current worries.
