iMac (27-inch, Late 2013) problems printing PDF

I have a iMac (27-inch, Late 2013) with macOS Catalina 10.15.7. The computer runs fine. No issues. I use it to do basic stuff, internet, email, printing. I do have a problem printing from Adobe at times. Many documents no issues at all, but some will have a black box around the image or sometimes the entire page prints black. I read that I may need to update Adobe reader but when I try it says I need masOS 12. or higher. I am unable to update the OS. Is there anything I can do about adobe reader or another way to print PDFs?

Thank you!

You can try opening and printing PDFs fom Preview, part of macOS.

View PDFs and images in Preview on Mac - Apple Support

Right-click on the file's icon and hold. The contextual menu should include an "Open with..." option that will include Preview.

A Late 2013 iMac is hardware-constrained to running no higher macOS the 10.15 "Catalina."
