Cant see extensions in Apple Intelligence & Siri

Okay, so I can't access the Chat GPT Extension, when looking at the Apple Intelligence & Siri (AI&S) section of my settings.

Some notes:

  • I'm using the latest iOS 26.0
  • I'm on an iPhone 17 Pro.
  • The Region on my phone is set to United states.
  • The Language of my hone is set to English (US) — despite this making me reel internally.
  • Within AI&S the Language is set to English (United States) — your phone language and AI&S language need to be in sync.

I've followed all of the steps in the Set up Chat GPT user guide.

Searching around, I found the discussion: No “Extend Apple Intelligence & Siri” in …. Despite being closed there's no answer to people who have encountered the same issue. The top ranking reply — which has been edited by a moderator — shows an image with the extensions section front and center, which for me and so many others is not the case. There is simply no extensions section.

So, once again. How do you get the "Extensions" section to show in AI&S?

iPhone 17 Pro, iOS 26

Found a solution. I had a hunch that if you follow the steps to disable ChatGPT and then reverse them you might be able to unlock this missing feature (ah, the art of debugging). In short, try blocking access to Apple Intelligence features, then re-enabling them.

Go Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions > Intelligence & Siri > Intelligence Extensions.

Toggle this setting.

Concretely, set it to "Allow," then back to "Don't Allow". You might need to exit before toggling it back. For me, just toggling it worked.

Pics or it didn't happen.

* I think this bug has something to do with switching languages.
