Mac Mini M4 not recognising keyboard/mouse via TESmart KVM HID ports

I’m running a Mac Mini M4 alongside a Linux workstation using a TESmart HDMI+DP 4K@60Hz KVM switch (dual monitor).

Video works fine on my two 32-inch LG monitors, but macOS refuses to recognise any keyboard or mouse through the KVM’s dedicated Keyboard/Mouse HID ports.

Here’s what I’ve tested:

  • Cheap 2.4 GHz wireless mouse + keyboard (separate dongles): works on Linux HID ports, but Mac Mini sees nothing.

  • Logitech MX Keys Mini + MX Master 3S (Bolt dongle): not recognised on Mac or Linux through HID ports; works only via Aux port.

  • Cherry wired keyboard with built-in trackpad: works on Linux HID, but not on Mac HID.

If I plug any of these into the Auxiliary USB hub port on the TESmart, they work on both Mac and Linux — but that disables the KVM’s hotkeys and prevents me running Mac on one monitor, Linux on the other, and switching seamlessly between them.

I’ve rebooted, swapped ports, tried single devices, researched online/YouTube — same result every time. The Amazon listing for this KVM clearly states Mac compatibility, but with my Mac Mini M4, the HID ports just don’t work.

Question: Has anyone else managed to get a Mac Mini M4 working properly with keyboard/mouse through a TESmart KVM’s HID ports? Is there a hidden setting, firmware update, or workaround?
