Apple Intelligence, UK English, and HomePod

Any ideas for a workaround?

iPhone 17

I have managed to get Apple Intelligence working by changing my Siri language from English (United Kingdom) to English (United States).

However, my HomePods now won't respond to my voice, and will only work if my Siri language is set to English (United Kingdom).
