Apple Cash | Sent to closed account

A transfer from Apple Cash was accidentally sent to an old bank account number that has since been closed and replaced with a new one. The bank confirmed the old number will never be reused, so the funds should bounce back. Green Dot Bank (for Apple Cash) has opened a dispute, but there is concern the money may not return.
