I am the Organizer of the Family. There is one adult member. I haven't given them the ability to share my credit card. They just attempted to install iOS 26 on their iPhone and were asked to supply credit card information. Shouldn't it be free. If not, shouldn't the credit card assigned to their Apple account be used?

Downloading and installing iOS 26 is free. I've never seen a message like that when attempting to install an iOS update and I'm the organizer of our Family Sharing account, and it contains 2 other adult members. However they are able to use the single credit card that is part of my Apple account for apps and music. If you can get a screenshot of the message they receive, it may provide a little more information. If you decide to share it, make sure that you cover any personal information, i.e. Apple Account name, etc.
Thank you. I hope to setup a Zoom Mtg. So I can see what is actually happening. I know the Apple techs can take over my device remotely and I can watch while they try to solve a problem. Is there a way I can do that?
