Apple Music window resets and playlist auto-expand in macOS 26

I have a couple of issues with the new OS and how it relates to the Music app.

1) Since updating to MacOS 26 the Music app always reverts to the default size when the mac starts up instead of keeping the re-sized window as in past releases.

2) The app now expands playlist folders at random times during app use. This was happening on the previous IpadOS and now happens on the mac.

These seem to be nit picking issues but are extremely annoying on a day-to-day basis.

Any suggestions to remedy the situation? Apple you need to fix this.

You might delete the cache for Music

To clear the Apple Music cache on a Mac, open the Finder, go to the Go menu and select Go to Folder..., type ~/Library/Caches/, and press Enter. You can then select the com.apple.Music folder (or other cached files) within the Caches folder, and press Command + Delete to move them to the Trash. Finally, empty the Trash to permanently delete the cached files. Reboot you Mac.

Same here. Plus a few other 'features':

  • If you start playing an album, and want to queue another album after, "Play Later" (or "Play Last") is frequently missing from the context menu
  • If you select "Play Next", the upcoming queue shows your first LP continuing after the 2nd LP ends; but you cannot grab songs in the queue and re-arrange them
