Touch ID option doesn't kick in when returning from sleep Sonoma Version 14.8 (23J21)

After updating to Sonoma Version 14.8 (23J21) I noticed that when coming out of stand-by (sleep) almost every time I am prompted for my password. The Touch ID login option is not working as before. This is a noticeable downgrade in terms of usability.

Before: I opened the macbook and Touch ID was immediately working, allowing me to login in 1 second. The message was "Touch ID or Enter Password". ONLY after many sleep-login cycles was I prompted for my password in order to also activate again the Touch ID, I guess for some "security" reason.

After (now): almost every time when coming back from sleep I only get the "Enter Password" option with the focus on password input field. I need to cancel it (Escape) many times to make Touch ID appear again alongside Password input option.

Of course that the option to have computer unlocked with Touch ID is checked. I already tried to disable and re-enable it, and didn't fix the issue.

Has anyone else experience this behaviour? I reported the bug, and maybe others should consider this option in order to encourage a rapid fix. Thank you.
