Can you use airpod pro 2 as a hearing aid in a movie theater?

In a public movie theater watching a movie (so not on a device) can you use the airpod pro 2 to amplify the voices in the movie? If so, how do you do that? What are the settings that the airpods should be on? Thank you!!

It's not a new feature by a long shot, originally in 2019 on the the first AirPod Pros. The Pro 2s then took over the mantle but it was in 2024 that Apple received approval by the FDA to actually sell them and call them OTC hearing aids. The problem was that they had to be approved by countries all over the world and some countries still don't have approval.

Yes, it's a new feature. While in the past you could upload an audiogram to tune the headphones some, it wasn't the same feature.
