No notification sounds after new iOS 26 update on my Iphone

I’ve had a similar problem with my new 17pro. Sometimes I just do not get notified of texts received. I’ll open a text thread to text someone and see that they’ve sent me 5-6 messages that I was never notified about. Also, if I receive a message while the phone is unlocked and I’m using it, the banner shows up, but when I close the app I was using, there is no badge icon telling me of the unread messages received.

A new issue that appeared today, is that my wife tried to text me about 10 different times, got the blue line across the top as if it were a large media message (it was just plain text) and then the message just disappeared and never sent. No failed to send “!” or anything. Just vanished.

i tried the recommended solution posted here and i don't know yet if it worked for the phone going into "silent", as that happens to me randomly after powering up my phone in the morning every few days, i'll keep an eye on that. but even after doing that process, and checking the mute button, which was working. i still didn't get a text notification on my lock screen, no sound or nothing showing on the screen. i don't know i miss them until i unlock the phone and see a red number next to the message app. this is NOT the same problem a lot of us are having with the entire phone going silent. my sound can be on and still randomly won't get a text notification. even from contacts that i text regularly. sometimes after a few messages back and forth i will start getting notifications. but then the next day i may not, from the same people. it's completely random and DIFFERENT from the "silent" issue, which i also have. i see people on this thread mentioning both problems confusing them together. they are 2 different problems. maybe related to the same bug i don't know. i did send in a bug report for both issues separately because they are not the same problem. my sound can be fine and yet ill still randomly not get a message notification on the lock screen, regardless of sound being on. i wont even get the banner or whatever it's called at the bottom of the lock screen , i've tried changing the way to get them, like stack, count etc. it doesnt matter, when it happens there is nothing to show on the lock screen... i have another thread started for this particular problem since it was different from the topic here, i have both problems and i see some do here too but posting about it on a different problem thread.. here is a link to the thread i started specifically about the message notifications only...

I've tried this but it doesn't work for me. The phone (14 Pro) was behaving normally till yesterday, since when it's gone silent on everything except when I receive a call. So there is NO sound when a SMS or WhatsApp message arrives, and there is NO sound when I send an email.

I am totally ****** off with this, and for the first time in nearly 20 years I'm seriously considering abandoning Apple and switching to a Samsung phone. I was about to buy a 17 Pro, but I've put it on hold, and if Apple don't get their bloody act together SOON I'm out of here.

Umm…..Well ur other post says that u have an iPhone 11. So what phone do you actually have?? An iPhone 15 or an iPhone 11???

Umm.... They don't haven any other posts.

I have same problem since the update on my iPhone 13mini! Have no ringtones, alerts or notifications! Help!

I do hope they will fast-track this particular issue, since so many of us use our phones to keep track of our kids / parents for safety and medical issues.

Same issue on my iPhone 13. No notification sounds or phone call rings. All settings are good and sound should be coming in.

No sound alert on iPhone 14 Pro Max after iOS 26 update

Same issue but with a 13!!!! Argh! WTH!!!

My sound problems automagically disappeared after some time and after some more restarts.

Worked for the 14pro no problem but upgraded to the 17pro and lost all sounds for notifications have tried everything now .. Anyone found a work around for this yet?

I just upgraded to iOS 26.1 and I still cannot get sounds when I receive a notification of a text. When in the heck is this going to be addressed? My wife is ready to throw the phone out the window!
