MacOS Tahoe Update Changed Apple Music Volume Control

I updated my MacBook Air with MacOS Tahoe and can no longer adjust each song when I create a playlist in Apple Music. The volume bar is there, when I toggle the bar up or down no sound adjustment is made.

I'm a fitness instructor and presetting the volume is an important feature for me.

Your guidance resolving this issue is greatly appreciated.

You can adjust the volume for individual songs or several by highlighting them and then clicking command-I (for info). Then click on the "options" tab and make your adjustments.

I'm seeing this also on one machine (MBP 2020 M1 Max) but not another (MBA 2025 M4). The 2020 has a broken volume control in Apple Music. I like to play guitar along with tracks and there's no way to reduce the volume of the Apple Music content while I'm playing through my audio interface. This worked in the past. As OP said, the slider moves but nothing happens.

I have the same problem. The Options volume and EQ controls exist but they have no effect

I updated my iMac 24  M1 to OS 26.1 the other day.

Music plays OK but they screwed-up the interface.

1.—I do not have the new AutoMix option. Just the old Crossfade. Seems odd.

2.—The PLAY CONTROLS are now buried in the in the bottom of the song list below the list's scroll bar.  Terrible. It's cluttered and the play time is not automatically displayed.

3.—I’ve adjusted playback volumes and equalizers in Song>Info>Properties and so far I haven't heard any changes.  As noted

4.—When moving a song above or below the songs that are visible, the list doesn't scroll so you have to drop the song, scroll, then move the song some more.

5.—When adding an image to Song>Artwork  The image fills the square frame rather than showing the full image on a black square.  That means a lot of the images I've included don't display correctly.

6.—The VIEW OPTIONS dialogue is now bigger than the window and has vertical and horizontal sliders. Ridiculous.

7.—Not that it matters much but the image on a new playlist I just made shows no cover art. It's just a graduated red with the Playlist name on it. The old ones display four random covers from the list.

I'm sure I left something out.
