Movie not available despite being advertized Apple TV

I searched for a particular movie last week - P.S. I love you.

It showed available on Apple TV and I subscribed only to watch this movie and it turned out it is not available.

Why would they advertise something which is not available and lie to the people :(

I was so disappointed :(

Anyone having similar issues with movies showing available and actually not being there?

Isn't that something which is kind of illegal?

I searched for a particular movie last week - P.S. I love you.
It showed available on Apple TV
  1. You searched on Google or a similar external search engine, not on Apple.
  2. Google gave you a result that applies to the South Africa (za) region. This is referenced in the URL and in the bottom-right corner of the page.
  3. Buy or rent titles may have a web page reference, but those titles are not available for viewing on the web. You’ll need the Apple TV app for viewing. Buy movies and TV shows from the Apple TV app - Apple Support Rent movies from the Apple TV app - Apple Support
  4. In-app search will give results that would be available to you (your Apple Account) in your region (the region as set for your account).

Hi, thank you for your reply Phil.
I attached a screenshot, as when i checked in google for the movie online it shows watch on Apple TV (below 1st screenshot)
I subscribed, downloaded the Apple TV app and if there was an option to rent it or purchase I would have but in my case it doesn't show at all available when I search (second screenshot) :( I am located in Bulgaria currently, which could be the reason you and the others commenting are seeing it as an option based in the US. I search and it doesn't appear at all, unfortunately :(
Would've been nice to inform the subscribers what is available at which location :)
Thanks again for your help! Best Regards, V

The images tells you, you can watch it in the Apple TV app, nowhere does it say it's available in the Apple TV+ subscription that you went and subscribed to.

Also, yes the result is shown as being in the South African Apple TV store. Since you are in Bulgaria, once it was able to verify location it determined it's not available there.

So, yes, you assumed many things incorrectly.

Best option is to always use the Apple TV app on your device to verify the availability of something, and to understand that the Apple TV+ subscription service is mostly for Apple's original content and will likely not offer 3rd party Hollywood movies like that.

Where was it advertised as being available in Apple TV+?

Apple TV+ is mostly for Apple's own original content. They may sometimes may other things available under the subscription, but it's not a usually thing anymore.

I can see its available for purchase or rent from the Apple TV app, but nowhere does it say its available under the Apple TV+ subscription.

Those are 2 very different things.

I think you may have misread whatever you saw.

Hi Jonathan,

Thanks for your feedback.

For me it doesn't even give me the option to rent or purchase, it doesn't show at all when i search in the app. I am located in Bulgaria currently, which might be the reason, otherwise I would have used one of the options to be able to watch it. Just feels misleading that it shows available and it isn't :(

Best Regards,

Velislava
