Real-time connection between iPhone 17Pro and iPad Pro

Can I connect the iPhone 17Pro to my iPad Pro (version 16.7.11) so that I can take photos with my iPhone17 but *compose* the image on the iPad in real time? I can't use the iPhone for photo composition because the image is too small.

iPad Pro, iPadOS 16

As long as the iPad and iPhone are on the same Apple Account and you have iCloud sync turned on both devices, you can certainly take a photo on your iPhone, then move over to your iPad and edit it as soon as it syncs there.

I believe that the OP wants to use the iPad's screen as a remote electronic viewfinder for composing the photos that the iPhone is going to take, before the iPhone takes them.

Google's "AI overview" suggests that the BlackMagic Camera app and the Capture One Mobile app can support such tethering, and that other apps like DTO and Accost can support live mirroring. The AI instructions typically involve installing the same app on both devices. In the case of the Capture One Mobile, the instructions said to install the app on the iPad, but said nothing about installing it on the iPhone.

I clearly didn't understand that's what they wanted. I'm glad you have some knowledge on this subject, so I'll bow out and let you handle this, since I've never needed such an ability.

yes you are correct! I want a remote (larger) viewfinder for my iPhone. Thanks for suggesting those apps and I will see if any of those work for that and report back if case anyone else needs that capability.

Actually the best solution is for Apple to sell an iPad with their top of the line cameras but they don't seem interested in that. I take my best photos with my iPad due to the large viewfinder but the camera is not the best.
